Research & application notes

Mazda RX-8 SAS / SRS airbag diagnostic control unit F151-57-K30A, not an engine ECU.

Research reviewed 18 October 2026The actual label and Mazda box confirm F151-57-K30A SAS/SRS identity. Ancillary 5D13A and Visteon 33276 51 markings can be recorded visually, but no independent orderable supplier-number meaning or broader fitment is established.

Identification & application notes

  • This is a Mazda RX-8 SAS / SRS airbag diagnostic control unit, not a 13B engine ECU. The original offered-stock photo shows SAS and F151 57 K30 A on the blue label, and F151-57-K30A on the genuine Mazda box.
  • The blue label also visibly carries 5D13A and Visteon 33276 51, with spacing retained here as printed. These are ancillary observed markings; they are not promoted to a verified orderable supplier MPN, a supersession or an independently established compatibility code.
  • The existing Mazda original-parts record identifies F151-57-K30A as UNIT SAS and lists F151-57-K30B as its successor. The 2004 RX-8 collision-parts catalogue places F151-57-K30A in the front airbag diagnostic system. Those sources do not explain the ancillary Visteon markings.
  • The earlier 2006/M5/SE17 description is not exact fitment evidence. SRS options, sensors and markets differ; engine or gearbox identity alone does not establish airbag-system compatibility.
  • This safety-critical SRS unit requires a qualified installer to establish the correct VIN/configuration, diagnostic condition, deployment history and any required setup. The owner's tested-OK statement is not independent SRS safety certification or proof of deployment-history status.

Confirm before ordering

These details remain unconfirmed for this individual item:

  • Exact VIN/market, production range, airbag configuration and service replacement restrictions
  • Crash/deployment history and whether diagnostic, coding or setup work is required
  • Meaning and orderable supplier-code status of the observed Visteon 33276 51 and 5D13A markings; no independent manufacturer cross-reference was established

Safety-system verification SRS, ABS and EPS components must be matched to the vehicle and full module revision by a qualified automotive technician. Installation may require coding, calibration and diagnostic checks. An owner-confirmed working condition does not establish compatibility or certify the vehicle’s safety system.
