Cookie & privacy policy
Last updated: 30 October 2026.
Who is responsible for this website?
Nicks Garage Ltd, Athanasias Street, Livadia, Larnaca, Cyprus, is responsible for the website's use of cookies and analytics. For privacy questions or requests, email sales@nicksgarage.shop.
Your choice comes first
You can browse without accepting analytics. Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity are not loaded unless you select “Accept analytics” after reading the current notice. “Necessary only” keeps both off. Our consent signals deny advertising storage and personalisation.
The notice does not block access to the website. “Cookie settings” in the footer lets you review, change or withdraw your choice at any time. If your preference expires or cannot be read, analytics stays off until you choose again.
Necessary preference cookie
Cookies are small pieces of information stored by your browser. The following first-party cookie remembers the choice you make in our notice:
- Name
ng_analytics_consent- Provider
- Nick's Garage — on this website's domain.
- Purpose
- Remembers whether optional analytics is accepted or declined, so your choice can be respected between visits.
- Contents
v2_grantedorv2_denied. This preference contains no unique visitor ID, contact details or browsing history.- Duration
- 180 days from your selection, or until you delete it in your browser.
- When it is stored
- After you select “Accept analytics” or “Necessary only”. It is not acceptance of marketing, an order or other service terms.
A previous Google Analytics-only acceptance does not authorise Microsoft Clarity. Visitors with that older acceptance are shown the updated notice before either analytics service loads. An older “Necessary only” choice remains respected.
An older notice may have stored ng_cookie_notice with the fixed value v1_necessary_only for 180 days. That legacy preference is not analytics permission and cannot enable Google Analytics. It may remain until it expires or you delete it.
Optional Google Analytics 4
If you accept analytics, we load Google Analytics 4 to understand visits to pages and interest in our workshop and products. Google Analytics is provided for our EEA account by Google Ireland Limited. It processes browser and device information, page visits, interaction timing and traffic-source information. Google also receives technical request information, including your IP address, when your browser connects to its servers. Browser identifiers are not the same as anonymous data.
- Cookie names
_gaand_ga_<stream identifier>.- Purpose
- Distinguish browsers and maintain analytics session information after consent.
- Configured duration
- 180 days from creation. Our tag is configured not to extend that expiration on each visit (
cookie_update: false). Removing cookies or withdrawing consent may end their use sooner. - Advertising features
- Advertising storage, Google signals, ad personalisation and the use of analytics for advertising are disabled in our website configuration.
Optional Microsoft Clarity
With the updated analytics permission, Microsoft Clarity helps us understand clicks, scrolling and navigation on selected public pages. It reconstructs page interactions for heatmaps and session replays; it does not use your camera or microphone. Microsoft receives browser and device details, technical network information and the permitted page context. These records are not anonymous merely because text is masked.
Clarity does not load on the enquiry page, unknown or private routes, preview sites, or pages whose URL or referrer contains a query string or fragment. It stops before form submission or navigation to those pages or to external contact links. Form content is additionally marked for masking. Strict masking is selected in our Clarity project. We do not send custom customer identifiers or form messages to Clarity. Browser Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track also prevents it loading.
Clarity may use the first-party cookies _clck and _clsk to associate visits and sessions after permission. Microsoft documents additional third-party identifiers in its cookie information. Our project has cookies off by default; our consent API grants analytics storage only after acceptance and keeps advertising storage denied. Cookie lifetimes and provider storage are separate from our 180-day preference cookie.
Microsoft states that ordinary replay data is kept for 30 days; heatmaps, click data and labelled or favourited sessions may be kept for 9 months. Microsoft may process data outside Cyprus and the EEA under its applicable terms. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement, Clarity cookie information and data-retention documentation.

What our contact measurements mean
We separately count general WhatsApp clicks, telephone clicks and the opening of WhatsApp or email from a prepared enquiry form. A valid message preview in the form is measured separately from those contact actions. Repeating the same preview without editing the details does not create another preview event. A click or preview indicates interest only: it does not confirm that a call connected, a message was sent, an appointment was booked or a purchase completed.
Our analytics events use page paths, fixed form identifiers and limited category labels, including the contact channel and whether a link belongs to the header, footer, enquiry form, parts or dyno section. They do not include form-field values, email recipients, message bodies, WhatsApp message text, search queries, URL fragments or complete contact-link URLs. We do not send a customer account ID to Google Analytics. Automatic form, outbound-link and site-search measurement are not enabled.
Page, catalogue and video interactions
With analytics permission, we also count navigation between public pages, public product interest, catalogue search and filter usage, result counts, scroll milestones, expanded content, review-panel controls and playback milestones for our own videos. Catalogue search words are not sent. Catalogue measurements use a catalogue name, search-present and filter-present flags, result counts and fixed action labels. Product references identify entries in our public catalogue. Video measurements use the public video-page identifier and progress milestones, not a recording of your screen or activity outside this website.
Outbound-link measurements use approved public website-domain labels or the fixed label “other”; complete destination URLs are not sent. Links published by the workshop may use fixed campaign labels to distinguish sources such as Instagram, Facebook, Google, Bing and directories. Only approved source, medium, campaign and placement labels are accepted. Other URL queries, advertising click identifiers, search text and fragments are discarded. Traffic-source information may be unavailable when an external app or browser does not supply it.
Changing or withdrawing consent
Optional analytics is based on your consent. Select “Necessary only” in “Cookie settings” to withdraw it. We stop both analytics tools, remove accessible first-party Google Analytics and Clarity cookies, and reload without either tool. A failed preference write also stops collection on the current page. Our website cannot delete Microsoft-domain cookies; manage those in your browser. Withdrawal does not erase data previously collected.
Withdrawal does not automatically erase information already collected or change the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. For a privacy request, contact us using the email below. We may need information to verify a request and explain whether particular browser-level analytics records can be identified.
Google processing and international transfers
Google may process information using systems outside Cyprus or the European Economic Area, including in the United States, subject to its applicable data-processing and transfer terms. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services, Google's Privacy Policy and Google's data-processing terms.
Cookie expiration is separate from Analytics reporting-data retention. Our Analytics property is configured to retain user-level and event-level data for 2 months, with the option to reset retention on new activity turned off. This does not set the lifetime of aggregated reports, which may remain available for longer.
Optional Google reviews panel
The homepage offers a separate “Load Google reviews” button. No Elfsight reviews script or widget is loaded by our website without a saved, explicit reviews permission. Select that button to allow the panel and remember your choice on this browser for 180 days. With a valid saved permission, reviews load automatically on future visits to the homepage. Accepting analytics does not load reviews, and loading reviews does not grant analytics permission. You can read all reviews using the direct Google listing link instead.
If you choose to load the panel, your browser connects to Elfsight and Google to display public reviews and related images. These services may receive your IP address, browser and device information and may use their own cookies or storage. They may process information outside Cyprus or the European Economic Area. See the Elfsight Privacy Policy and Google Privacy Policy for their processing practices.
- Reviews preference cookie
ng_reviews_consent, set by Nick's Garage on this website's domain only after your reviews choice.- Contents
v1_grantedorv1_denied. It contains no unique visitor identifier, contact details or review text.- Duration
- 180 days from your selection, or until you delete it in your browser. A missing, expired, invalid or unreadable preference does not enable reviews. If the browser cannot save the permission, the panel stays off.
Select “Disable automatic reviews” in the homepage reviews section to save your withdrawal and reload without the widget. This does not change your separate Analytics preference. Reloading does not delete information or third-party storage already created; you can manage that storage through your browser. If your browser refuses to save a withdrawal, the panel is removed from the current page and a message asks you to clear the saved reviews preference before another visit. The provider periodically refreshes and caches review content, so newly published or edited reviews may not appear immediately.
External links, enquiries and hosting
WhatsApp, map, social-media and reference links open third-party services when you follow them. Those services have their own privacy and cookie policies. Email links open your chosen email application. The optional reviews panel described above is the only reviews embed; following an external link is a separate action.
If you contact us, the details you choose to share are used to respond to your request and discuss the relevant service or part. Do not send sensitive personal information through analytics or public website fields. Our hosting provider may process technical requests and security logs to deliver and protect the website; those logs are separate from optional analytics.
Your privacy rights and contact
Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion or restriction of personal data, object to processing, request data portability or withdraw consent. You may also complain to the competent data-protection authority, including the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus. These rights are subject to the applicable conditions and legal requirements.
