Which performance parts fit my car? A practical buying checklist
Nicks Garage Ltd ·
Start with the exact vehicle and component codes, then check the part number and the complete installation. A model name, photograph or horsepower label does not confirm fitment.
Send the details that identify the application
At Nick's Garage in Cyprus, a useful parts enquiry starts with the actual car and the work planned. Send the original part number where available, including its suffix. Say if the engine, gearbox or turbo system has been changed; factory fitment information may no longer describe a modified car.
- Make, model, year, engine code and gearbox type or code.
- The requested manufacturer's part number and a link to the item.
- Existing hardware, ECU, fuel and intended road or competition use.
- Photographs of labels, mounting points and the current installation.
- What you need supplied, installed and checked by the workshop.
A turbo power rating is not a fitment promise
Garrett's selection guidance considers engine size, target power and intended use, then the detailed turbo configuration. Its power ratings use an estimated engine-power basis. The housing, mounting arrangement, response target and supporting installation still need checking. Choose around the whole engine package rather than the largest advertised number.
A gearbox family is only the starting point
A GR6, R8 or Huracan enquiry needs the exact transmission identified before clutch, gearset or selector parts are chosen. Check the manufacturer's application information and the workshop assessment together. A part listed in a catalogue is not automatically in stock, a complete kit or suitable for every version.
Agree the complete job before ordering
Confirm compatibility, required supporting parts, supply availability, installation and validation before buying. Tell us if parts have already been purchased. We will discuss the actual work and quotation; this checklist does not create an order or guarantee a particular result.
